Founder Note

LoVoi is my maiden name, a Sicilian surname with its own history.

I didn’t arrive here quickly. I spent years as a stay-at-home parent before my youngest left for college. Long before LoVoi existed, I was a serious collector and a high-end jewelry buyer for over 30 years. Gemstones carry power. Across cultures for centuries, this has never been a question — they have been worn for protection, for prayer, for the energy they hold. That history is part of why the work matters.

What began as instinct became discipline three years ago, when I enrolled at the Gemological Institute of America to add expertise to passion. Within days, it was clear this was not casual. It was a commitment.

I am a GIA Graduate Gemologist, GIA Pearls Graduate, and AJP. These credentials are virtually unheard of at the founder level. They are more often held by the technical experts behind major houses than by the names on the door.

The way the industry handled its sophisticated customers bothered me for years. Eventually it bothered me enough to do something about it. I had no interest in building a brand without the authority to stand behind every decision — technically, materially, ethically. I wanted to meet this industry at its highest level, not learn it from a distance.

I come from a family where rigor is the baseline. We value scholarship, precision, and mastery for their own sake.

LoVoi is built the same way. The education is not a footnote. It is the foundation. It is what allows every material, every setting, every proportion to be intentional. Nothing is guessed. Nothing is assumed.
