The Pinctada Maxima oyster can take up to 5 years to produce a single South Sea pearl. South Sea pearls are one of the largest types of pearls and have a unique luster quality. The nacre on the South Sea pearl is also generally thicker than other pearls.  Each pearl is hand selected and carefully knotted with silk cord between each pearl.

This strand of pearls is certified by the Pearl Science Laboratory and includes the Best TERI Mark. Pearls deserving of this certification are awarded "brightness pearls with the best color of light interference on a pearl." It is the highest grade possible for brilliance.

Pearl Science Laboratory certificate included with purchase.
